The Angel Coalition’s two major tasks are the prevention of human trafficking and the repatriation and rehabilitation of human trafficking victims. The Angel Coalition’s activities for the prevention of human trafficking include legislative lobbying, development and implementation of informational and educational programs, protection of victims’ rights, and outreach for potential victims of human trafficking. The Angel Coalition can take pride in close collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation as well as with a large number of other organizations of a similar type both overseas and in Russia. And with regard to aid for victims, the Angel Coalition has established a network of functional shelters all over Russia which offer various rehabilitation services, and it has launched a hotline that serves as a source of rapid information for victims of human trafficking as well as for potential victims.|
Within the framework of the project, «Provision of Support and Aid to Migrant Workers, and Securing of their Integration in Society» (the donor: the European Commission), a new site has been created – nelegalmigrant.ru – devoted to the issue of illegal migrants. The main mission of the site is to consolidate civil society in support and protection of migrants' rights and to foster a tolerant attitude towards migrants. The right of migration is among the fundamental human rights. This right is acknowledged and measures are being taken to enforce it in the countries of the European Community, including the Russian Federation.
The creation of the site was necessitated by a number of circumstances relating to illegal migrants in Russia and aims to increase the level of legal education and awareness of the problem, and foster tolerance among migrants as well as among Russian citizens.
